What could CX AI change on your cost line?
Nine inputs, sixty seconds, and an honest picture of what self service automation and agent assist could do to your contact center budget. Defaults are filled with safe mid-market estimates, so start by changing the numbers you actually know.

Implied agent seats after the change: 20, which frees roughly 5 seats of capacity for growth, overflow, and coverage rather than a target for cuts.
Model uses 260 work days per year. Automation reduces human contacts by the target percent. Productivity lift increases contacts handled per remaining agent. Figures are planning estimates for a strategy conversation, not a quote or a guarantee.
AI handles routine containment and agent assist. Humans keep exceptions, compliance-sensitive work, and high-stakes contacts.
Where this fits: the estimate pairs with a contact center platform evaluation when the stack itself is in play, and with AI and automation scoping when the platform stays and the tooling changes. Floors that answer to regulators carry extra design constraints, and we treat those as requirements rather than features.
Estimator Questions
How accurate is this CX AI cost estimator?
It is a planning estimate, not a quote. The model uses your nine inputs, a 260 work day year, and two levers: automation containment and agent productivity lift. Every assumption is shown under the results. When the numbers look interesting, the next step is a strategy session where we rebuild the model with your real contact mix, platforms, and contracts.
What does the automation percentage actually mean in a contact center?
It is the share of contacts contained without a human: password resets, order status, scheduling, simple account questions. Fifteen percent is a conservative starting point for a floor adding modern self service; mature deployments go higher, but we recommend modeling conservatively and letting real results raise the number.
Does AI replace contact center agents?
No. In this model, and in the deployments we scope, AI handles routine containment and assists the agents you have. Humans keep exceptions, compliance-sensitive work, and high-stakes contacts. Most operators use the freed capacity to absorb growth, cut overtime, and shorten queues rather than to shrink the floor.
What does CX AI tooling cost per agent?
It varies widely by scope: assist and analytics tools are commonly priced per agent per month, while voice automation is often priced on usage. The default in the estimator is editable, and because ObsidianX bids requirements across a portfolio of suppliers, the real number comes from a competitive process rather than a rate card.
